tekmaestro asked:

I have a 50 year old brick home and I am replacing the gutters. I do not know whether to go with seamless gutters, aluminum gutters, or whatever other kind of gutters there are. I do not know a lot about gutters, but I want them to be easy to clean, long-lasting and I want them not to rust or discolor. I want white gutters to match the rest of the house. I am more concerned with quality than I am with cost, so I am looking at getting a professional company to install them - with a WARRANTY! Any reasonable suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The system is meant to guard against debris, snow and ice from building in the gutters. I have a two story home in the Chicago area of about 175 ft.of gutters. They are asking just under $3,000 including discounts if we act this week. Thus we don’t have time for another in home estimate from a competitor. They have a Good Housekeeping Seal and seem to be reputable but it is hard to be certain. Has anyone invested in a system such as this? Is this a reasonable price? Thanks for any feedback.

I am having a home built and the gutters are an extra option. I’m not sure how much they cost yet, anyway. The home is about 1600 sq. ft. Are the necessary? I’ve heard they can protect the foundation in the long run. Thanks!

I am about to buy a house (havent signed yet). Its brand new but there are only gutters in the front. The other day after it rained i went by and noticed that water was puddling around the concrete slab the house sits on. especially on the sides where there are no gutters. Should I tell the builder I will not sign unless these are installed.

We are in the process of getting quotes for new gutters for our house. We want to get the leaf guard covering or something similiar to that. The area is 122 ft. How much should this cost? We got one estimated for $9,000 which seems to be way way way to expensive. I was thinking more along the lines of $2,000.
What do you think?

Whenever it rains small beads and rain drops form underneath my gutters. It almost appears as if they are leaking. What causes this?

of the time, however hasn’t gone off once since I’ve installed the high end gutter guards. My question is, would the gutter guards effect the sump filling with water? Or has the ground around my new home (house is new construction) settled?
