I’m considering purchasing the Leaf Relief gutter guards by Alcoa for my gutters. I have severe issues with pine needles and leaves clogging up my gutters most of the year. My previous home had Leaf Guard which worked excellent but is too expensive for my new home due to the linear footage. I like the simplicity of Leaf Relief but it looks like it will retain a lot of pine needles before they dry out and blow away. I know there are dozens of different options out there but I want something I can have installed and forget. I also own a ranch home so options that fit under the first row of shingles don’t really appeal to me due to asthetics. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Hi all,
I purchased a house over the summer and the only note the home inspector made was that there were no gutters installed on the eaves.
I want to get some quotes for it before heavy snowfall starts but I’m not sure what to answer if they ask whether I want PVC or metal (is it steel?) gutters.
I was hoping someone could give me a quick snapshot of the pros/cons of each type.
Thanks!

Theresa

We’ve got a wooded lot and had someone recommend gutter guards. If we don’t install them, how often should the gutters be cleaned?

Thanks!

Ice storm filled gutters with ice. It’s not melting cause the sun only hits the back of the house. If it gets above freezing during the day should i go ahead and spray it down so the ice will melt and hope it dries before nightfall or is this a bad idea?

Becouse the water that is flowing over the gutter is washing away the dirt around my foundation. And I’m getting water comming into my basement! And YES my gutters are clean, too.

Aluminum or a Galvalume (not sure if I’m spelling this right)? And what’s the difference? My mom is telling me Aluminum is better because it’s lighter, and the gutter guy is saying the Galvalume(?) lasts longer (won’t rust out or break as easy) and is heavier.

I got stuck dealing with home repairs this summer while my husband is out of town. Any help anyone can give me on choosing the right gutters would be a big help.
