I found a leak in my roof it only leaks when it rains hard and is very windy it blows underneath the flashing in a seam. The flashing is just caulked all the way up and both sides and at each seam between the flashing. I doesn’t look like it is roof caulk because it is clear. (1)My question is should I remove all the old caulk then re caulk with roof caulk. Then I planned to black joe the area on top of the caulk. (2)Also my gutters are nailed on top of the shingles should I black joe them too? (3)Also there are a few broken shingles should I just black joe around the broken areas? (4)And why is my drip edge on top of the shingles? I thought it was supposed to be under the ice guard?

The problem worst in the problem worst in the area first before re caulking you may make the area first before re caulking you should always clean the area first before re caulking you may make the problem worst in.
